OLOGY: So Tyler Posey has some interesting things to say about your makeout skills.

Crystal Reed: (Laughs) I hope that he said good things about my makeout skills!

He did! So what’s it like working with him?

Tyler is one of the most genuine people that I’ve ever met—and I’m not just saying that because he’s in the room—but he really is. He just makes everyone feel really comfortable and he’s really loyal, which as a friend, is one of the qualities that I always look for. And he’s super sweet and funny. He’s very positive and doesn’t care about what people think… and the poor kid, he works so hard to do good and there’s long hours and he’s half naked and always freezing and he never complained once. I think that’s pretty cool.

Awwwwwwwwwwww!

(Laughs) Yeah, it was one of our first bonding experiences because, we were literally holding each other because all we had was each other’s body heat! (Laughs) It was really cute. And I remember thinking at the time, “Wow this is crazy,” but I didn’t want to say anything because I didn’t want to be, you know, the diva! Looking back, I always want to tell Jeff (the executive producer) , “You know what, that sucked really bad, I hated my life at that moment!” but I would do it all over again because the production—you’ve seen the pilot—it looks real!

So if you could turn into any animal, which would you choose?

A bird.

They do get to fly…

That’s the whole point! I get to fly and I could go wherever I wanted!

Very true! So… your dad on the show is kind of a jerk.

Um, he is a little bit! But the thing is that it’s all out of love… he believes that werewolves are evil and he has good reason to because there have been some things that have happened in our family that have led to him believing that werewolves should not exist. And there is also a code that you’re supposed to follow that you see in the middle of the season. They don’t just kill random werewolves, they have to have done something to deserve it. But it’s like the whole daddy-daughter thing, he just really wants to protect his daughter and she’s a bit of a daddy’s girl so she really means a lot to him.

What’s the biggest difference between you and your character Allison?

I think that the biggest difference is that Allison doesn’t always speak up and she doesn’t always say what’s on her mind and I do in my real life.

Who’s your celebrity crush?

Woody Allen.

Woody Allen?

Yes! I just think he’s so witty, he would be so fun!

What are your other favorite shows on TV right now?

One of my other favorite shows is True Blood, I think it’s really good. I love scary films and I love scary shows… and it’s really sexy and I’m never terrified too much… and it’s not too bad on the eyes! (Laughs) I also really love The Big C with Laura Linney. I think that’s really great.

So what can we expect from Teen Wolf?

You can expect a roller coaster ride! One second you’re laughing, one second you’re scared, the next second you’re drawn in by this love, so it’s really like a ride!

Can you tease us with some details on the season? Pleeeease?!

(laughs) Ummmm, let’s see. It will be interesting to see what Allison chooses. Because she is in love, and she has her boyfriend who is a werewolf and she has her family, that she honors and believes in. So at the end of the day, which one will she pick?

So when do Tyler and Allison become boyfriend and girlfriend?

I don’t think they ever have dialogue, I think they just fall into this thing and it’s mutually assumed that they’re together. They never have the “will you be my boyfriend” talk—I think in the first episode they have that moment where she ran in with the dog and they’ve had this connection before and they walk out to the car and he asks her to go to the dance together and they have this deep moment and I think that’s where it begins; this mutual understanding that they’re together.
